GOLF

Although some historians state that golf was born in the Netherlands (the Dutch word "kolf" means "stick"), the Romans had a game in which they used a curved stick and a ball made of feathers, which could have been the original source of the game. But golf, as we know it today, was born in some place of the East coast of Scotland at the beginning of the 15th century, there the shepherds used to have fun hitting pebbles with sticks until a goal. AS time passed by, the shepherds improved the game and introduced the first basic rules. Along time, the goal turned into a hole in which the ball was to enter after a certain number of hits.

For decades, all kind of people from all over the world have turned golf into their hobby and/or their favourite sport. Associations have been created, tournaments have been established and wonderful golf fields have been created.
